Magnet mechanic
The following gif demonstrates a metal ball with an initial velocity passing by a magnetic object and being pulled off course.
This mechanic may in future be used with triggers in the level that the player may interact with; for example, a magnetic object may require a button or lever to be hit before the magnet activates.
The following gifs show a setup that cannot be passed by the ball without the help of a magnet. The setup is a plane inclined 45 degrees, with two platforms at different heights. The second platform is approximately 2 meters higher than the first platform.
In the first gif, the magnet is disabled, and the ball falls.
The next gif shows the same level when the magnet is enabled:
Note that magnets are configurable, and the magnet being demonstrated in the second set of gifs is far stronger than the one demonstrated in the original gif. Magnets also may be attached and moved with other elements of the level!
